Langkawi Wild Life Park​

The Langkawi WildLife Park is situated at Lot 1485, Jalan Ayer Hangat, Kampung Belanga Pecah, 07000 Langkawi, Kedah, Malaysia. The park is built with a concept of allowing all the visitors to experience close interaction with the animals like never before, plus a fully covered walkway that enable visitors to visit the park during sunny day or rainy day. The 5.5-acre bird park is just a 10 minutes’ drive from Kuah Town. Being the first of its kind in Asia, the park was opened to the public with the named as “Langkawi Bird Paradise” on 30th November 2002. Inside, the park has created an ambience of a tropical rainforest. Initially the park featured mainly on avian of different species. It was officially launched by the Chief Minister of Kedah, Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri Razak Zain on 24th December 2002. On 1st January 2006 and in line with the new range of wildlife exhibits, we changed the name to “Langkawi WildLife Park”.

The park consists of 4 section each with its own theme and unique animals, which also including a humongous walk in aviary with over 50 species of birds from Malaysia and other part of the worlds roaming freely in it. Some of the animals you can found in the park are Blue and Gold Macaw, Flamingo, Budgerigars, Raccoons, Grey Crowned Crane, Peafowls, Crocodiles, Arapaima, rabbits and the list goes on and on as there are about 150 species of animals inhabited in the park.

As mentioned, the concept of this wildlife park focusing on close interaction with the animals. There are a lot of feeding and fun times with the animals. Apart from that, there are also internal guides that refer to as the ‘educators’ that are both friendly and knowledgeable. They will be more than willingly to guide the visitors along their trip in the park and share knowledges about the animals to the visitors and there is no separated charges for services provided by the educators. Animals feed can be bought at the animal feed stall as well.

Recently, Langkawi WildLife Park was once again been named as one of the winner for Travellers’ Choice Attractions Award 2015 from The TripAdvisor. Mr Teoh Cheng Kung, General Manager of the park stated that the award was their second in a row. He also mentioned that they received Certificate of Excellence from The TripAdvisor earlier in this year. Both of this awards placed The Langkawi WildLife Park in rank 20th among 25 best zoo in Asia. Apart from that Langkawi WildLife Park is proud to announced that they are one of the must visit destination in Langkawi with a spectacular standing of 6 out of 72 places.

Lately The Langkawi WildLife Park has brought in a pair of Fennec Fox which is a small nocturnal fox that has a pair of oversized ears that inhabits the area around Sahara Desert. The fox is one of the newest attraction of the park. Apart of the fox, there were also a few Meerkats that been brought into the park on 10th December of 2016. There are also some newborn in our park which is 2 pups of Asian small-clawed otter on 9th January of 2016 and 3 raccoon cubs on 18th April of 2016. The management of the park are working hard to maintain and upgrade the facilities to its best for the benefits of the visitors. The safety and welfare of the animals has always been the main concern of the park’s management. Therefore, The Langkawi WildLife Park is definitely a must-visit place for all the natural and animals lovers that visit Langkawi.

Daily feeding shows and fun time are held between 10am to 11:30 am and 2:30pm until 4:30 pm. The park open daily from 8:30 until 7pm (last entry at 6pm).

Other animals include, python, palm civet, hog deer, mandarin ducks, cockatoo, ibis, porcupine, hedgehog, guinea pig, ostrich, cassowary, vervet monkey and more.
